The Purpose of all Widows Sons of Massachusetts shall be to bring the motorcycle community to Freemasonry and Freemasonry to the Motorcycle Community. The bond of Freemasonry and motorcycling shall be brought together to raise awareness and funds for each chapter’s unique charitable goals.
The Sands of Time is a Central Massachusetts chapter of the Widows Sons Masonic Riders Association. Our mission is to combine our passion for motorcycling with the Masonic tenets of Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth. We are dedicated to supporting the widows and orphans of our fallen Brothers while serving as a visible, charitable force within our local communities.
The heart of our fundraising efforts is the annual Tommy Long Memorial Ride. This event was established to honor the memory of a beloved Masonic Brother who lost his life in a motorcycle accident, leaving behind a widow and two young daughters.
What began as a tribute to one man has evolved into a vital community lifeline. Each year, we ride to ensure that Tommy’s legacy of brotherhood continues by raising significant funds for veterans, children, and families in need throughout Central Massachusetts.
We believe in local impact. Our fundraising proceeds are directed toward established non-profits and community funds. In the past year alone, the Sands of Time chapter has provided financial support to:
Veterans Services: Clear Path of New England.
Children & Education: Rise Above Foundation (supporting foster youth), Shriners Hospital for Children, and the Wilder Lodge Scholarship Fund.
Local Community Relief: The Leominster Mayor’s Fund and the Masonic Angel Fund (providing immediate assistance to children in local schools).
By supporting the Sands of Time, donors are investing in a proven network of local charity, powered by a brotherhood committed to never leaving a neighbor in need behind.
